Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a validation system, which is used to stop the so-called email spoofing where an email message can be sent from one address, but to seem as being sent from a different, often with the objective to scam the recipient someway. If SPF protection is enabled for a domain, a special record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers globally have it. The record includes all mail servers that are permitted to send valid messages from an address part of the domain. When an email is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters verifies the SPF record and when its sending server is permitted, the message is forwarded to the target receiver. If, however, the sending server doesn't exist in the SPF record for the specified domain, the e-mail message won't be submitted and it'll be removed. In case you employ this solution, it'll stop third parties from sending spam e-mails which appear to have been sent from you.

SPF Protection in Shared Web Hosting

SPF protection can be activated for any domain hosted in a shared web hosting account on our cloud hosting platform with just a few clicks. The option can be found in the Emails section of our outstanding Hepsia Control Panel and all you need to use it is to choose one of your domain names from a drop-down list and then type in the hostnames and the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the email servers which will be approved to send email messages from your emails. As an additional option you can also restrict the messages to be sent from your domain only when it includes our MX records, in other words when our servers manage the email addresses for it, not some third-party provider. This option provides you with the best standard of protection, but it's not applicable in case only your website is on our servers while your e-mail addresses for the domain name are managed somewhere else. Regardless, the SPF protection service will keep your emails protected from being used for spam and scam purposes.

SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

In case your emails are handled by us and not by a third-party supplier, you will also be able to use an option for e-mail messages to be mailed only if the domain features our MX records and this would be the most secure option.
